Chocolate Chip Cookies
Description
Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of crispy edges and chewy centers.
Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and both sugars until fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Gradually mix in flour mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, until golden brown around edges.
- Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them
- Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies
- Try mixing chocolate chip types (dark, milk, white) for variety
